Alain Demarolle Appointed as Non-Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors of LCH.Clearnet S.A.

LCH.Clearnet Group (LCH.Clearnet) today announced that Alain Demarolle has been appointed to serve as non-executive Chairman of the Board Directors of LCH.Clearnet S.A., the Group's French-based entity, effective immediately. Patrick Combes announced in May 2014 that he would step down as Director and the Chairman of the Board Directors of LCH.Clearnet S.A.. Mr. Aigrain remains Chairman of LCH.Clearnet Group.

Mr. Demarolle brings to LCH.Clearnet S.A. a deep understanding of the international financial markets and regulatory environment.  In 2010, he founded Alura Capital Partners, an investment fund focusing on European equity opportunities. Prior to that role, he was the European Managing Director for Eton Park International for three years. He also served as the Economic and Financial Advisor to the Prime Minister of France, directly advising the French Government on all major corporate business including key M&A deals, banking and financial regulation, international cooperation and regulation of foreign investments from 2005 to 2007. Prior to this, Mr. Demarolle was a senior investment banker with Salomon Smith Barney and Bear Stearns in London and New York. He has served on the boards of France Investissement-FSI, the French strategic investment fund, and of the French Agency for International Investments (AFII).

2013 - Appointed as a Member of the "Innovation 2030" task force to select key strategic Investment opportunities for France.

Education

Mr Demarolle holds an MBA from ESSEC, a Post-Graduate Economics Diploma from Sciences–Po, and a PhD in Philosophy from La Sorbonne University.

He also graduated valedictorian from Ecole Nationale d'Administration (ENA) as an Inspecteur des Finances.
